Daish out!!!

I just think the whole team looked inept , unimaginative , lacked width. The list of issues is endless.

We were not just beaten well tonight , but humiliated absolutley humiliated.

I didnt see the last few games of last season , but what I have seen since Liam arrived has not been of any comfort.

Hoof Hoof Hoof.

Theres grass on a pitch , get the thing down and play on it. We must have the shortest frontline around , and will be beaten whenever we play hoof ball.

I fear that another humilation is on the cards Saturday.

Tactically Daish does not have a clue. On saturday we were 2 nil down and he didn't make any changes until there was 15 mins to go. I havn't seen us play well under Daish yet. He has to go. Sooner rather than later. We are going down if he isn't gone by christmas.

Out always said it from the 1st week. Apologies but i left after the 5th but Charles said something very accurate. In Mark Stimson Grays have one of the sharpest, most intelligent young managers in the non league game, has built a team not on expensive football league players, but non league talent and like Andy Ford did gets the best out of them individually and as a team. We had one of those people in Ade Pennock. WELLING could work out Daish wasnt good enough for them at Conference South level, i dont think we interviewed anyone else. Let the board learn their lessons as well since we are now playing with the future of this football club being semi full time.

Its the organisation that is letting us down.

The bunch of players that we have now, are probably the most talented individuals the Fleet have ever assembled. but we ain't getting the best out of them, and we certainly ain't playing as a team, there is absolutely no pattern at all to our forward play, and are being dragged all over the place defensively.

Long hard season ahead.

But even bigger concerns about our future, just hope we ain't gambling it all on this season. Could be our most expensive ever mistake.

Up the Fleet..

PS . Was there really 1500' odd there tonight ?

As with the Exeter game, we had a lively start but couldn't score. The way we are going, once we go a goal down we are going to be kippered.

I am not convinced by Daish but I don't feel we should panic after two games.

If he is sensible and starts with Manny and Drury and, as previously mentioned, doesn't insist on hoofing it long to short strikers, we might have half a chance. We were walloped tonight by a pacey team that use the whole of the pitch. I am concerned about Daish's apparent tactical ineptidude, but will watch with interest to see if he can sort it out.

The goal we scored was a basic long ball punt from the keeper. No surprise there then.

All of their goals were well taken (twice in the case of the penalty) and basically came from us not knowing where to be in defensive scenarios.

Either sitting far too high up the pitch and letting them get through us that way (Oli must have done that at least half a dozen times) or bunching up too narrow and letting them get up the wings (stand up Gooding).

At one stage towards the end, Oli was completely alone at the edge of the box with both centre backs about ten yards away either side of him?? They'd seen his pace and ability, why were they not marking closer?

Can't really blame Kerr for the red card as he was exposed by the defence letting them in again. So many times we were undone with one ball through!!!

At one point in the first half, Grays played a few vey neat triangles leading towards a half chance. It was nice football. We seem to punt the ball out from the back, hopefully win a header and feed off the scraps. This is fine if you have an Alan Shearer or Dion Dublin type up front, but not two little blokes as in our case.

Considering Daish is a former international centre half, the standard of defending is atrocious. This needs to be sorted out as a priority.

The only two I thought were OK yesterday were Slatter (tried hard)and Bowry (old head). The rest of them were headless chickens. Drury and Protheroe (if back) must play on Saturday.

Compare the shape of the Grays side to us. They had a defined 4-4-2 going on. Not sure what we had.

I think that there is a serious tactical problem going on with us at the moment. Also, we still need a striker big time. A preditory, aggressive and committed striker would have got on some of those crosses that flashed across the goal. A sort of Rob Haworth who can score lots of goals would be alright.

That said, I'll still go to Canvey for my sins and I thought that the burgers were alright.

That was about it though. Worst perfomance I have ever seen from a Fleet side <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />

......however, in perspective, your opponents were Grays last night...and there's gonna be LOTS of other teams who will be humiliated by them this season.

Keep your chins up fellas, the season's just started. Give it 5 games at least.

Good Luck for the remainder of the season!

Agreed in a sense. BUT we can afford to leave it too long before we have to change things. If we leave it as far as Christmas we could already be down. We will already lose a further 100 or so on an already poor home crowd. We dont want to lose anymore as then we will blow the budgets??!!

Oh i dunno!! Just peed off at the mo!!

definetely Daishy should go..he hasn't done anything good for the club apart from make a few good signing [danny slatter, Charlie Macdonald] but some of the signings he made [kim grant, Bobby bowry and scott gooding] definetely show that he cannot judge player ability

Grays may have a good chance of promotion because they have an intelligent manager not becuase they have a team filled with superstars. Oli, Nutter, Battersbey, these players have all played for us and been discarded by other teams yet repeating myself Stimson can get the extra 20% out of these players it seems, something i dont think Daish can.

The team has not had time to settle yet. I do agree we are lacking strikers up front, and this will be a test of daish, has he indeed got the ability to get strikers from teams he has not worked for. I feel that the squad is a good lineup, they just need to gel and become a team.
