Bluesfan here

i have asked the seller if she will be donating the proceeds from the sale of the FREE item to the club to assist in our time of financial difficulty.

from my experiences using ebay i think my question appears at the bottom of the advert so should persuade people not to bid for it!!!

I really can't see a problem with this. it certainly isn't illegal. The bands were given away at the carnival and were for advertising purposes. Once the person recieves it it is their property. They were not for fundraising and therefore why ask for the money back. If you still have one in a packet in 50 years time and Margate are in the premiership, would you consider selling it then? I think most people would. I personally find it quite flattering that someone might actually bid for it.

I can see where margateshot is coming from. It seems a little silly for us to be trying to stop someone from selling a wristband, one of tens of thousands of wristbands we were giving away for free at the Carnival.

However on the other hand, Margate wont be receiving the money raised by the sale. If the seller didnt want the band, the seller didnt have to have one. Its unfair for someone who didnt want the band to be selling it and keeping the money. I think its only fair that if the sale goes ahead, the money be donated to Margate FC.

In any case there isnt much we can do.

A truly historic moment as JJ agrees with me ....

just kidding...

Mr Maskell is right - there is little to do except express our feelings.

Look forward to hopefully meeting you James on Saturday along with a few others from this forum.

Shall we wear name tags in the bar before the game ?

reply from my message to said e-bayer

Hi

I'm sorry if this has caused any upset but if we were lucky enough to sell this item any money would have gone to OK wheel chairs a Thanet based charity , Ok Wheel chairs is a registered Charity which provides specialist wheel chairs for local children, if you would like any further details please feel free to contact us.

Again sorry if it has caused any upset
