that was a poor day on the pitch...

 

firstly we switch to 3-5-2 after having played well all pre-season at 4-4-2 and then play like a bunch of tarts...to be honest both teams were poor and deservedly the least poorest won...it could have been 3 or 4....

 

on that display neither team will win fck all this year.... <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />

 

we won't mention the ref and the linesmen.... <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

 

on a positive note the staff and officials at WA were most friendly and welcoming and the banter 'tween the fans was excellent and noisy at times...(pity a rentagob blinged up chav tried to ruin it but I think he got the message once aveley 'bare nuckle' dave growled at him once or twice...) <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

 

good day out for all that and a lesson learned...passing the ball around conference/premier sides in pre-season friendlies is a different ball game to what was required today....

 

about 320 in the crowd and at least half were urchins...as always they were superb so well done you travelling fans and also well done to WA...they deserved to win on the day and no complaints from me...

 

chins up everyone...we've never won a first game of the season since I've been here...

Also want to say that "from my point of view" the urchin faithfull are 1000000% behind J Lo and co, we could see their faces after the game and know what it meant to them, as well as they could to us.

 

We will bounce back, that's what we do and that's why we are such a family unit.

 

J Lo's red & white army are in for the long haul and don't you other teams forget that.

No need to panic - you'll be fine. I have no doubt you'll be top come May. The strength and depth in your squad will come into its own when the pitches get worse and each and every side suffers a few injuries/suspensions (as Abbey did around Christmas last year when they were still unbeaten!).
