Had money on Woking so wasn't impressed with that. Also had money on Sutton as part of a 4 from 7 bet, so that made up for it a bit.

Looking at getting £1.59 back from £3.50 though from the following:

Chelsea (play at Wigan tomorrow)

Yeading - Won 2-0 at Bognor

Lewes - Won 6-2 at home to Farnborough

Sutton - Won 4-1 at home to Maidenhead

Hitchin - Drew 1-1 at Halesowen (Had odds of 5.5, bit gutted)

Grays - Drew 1-1 at Burton

Woking - Lost 2-1 at Kidderminster (Had 3.25 on them, so a bit gutted again)

Burnham lost 1-0 at home to Sutton Coldfield in a shocker of a game. Matty had absolutely no service at all so didn't get a chance. Either this is an appalling league or both teams are in for a long hard season on this showing.

I had a quid on Birmingham, Tottenham, West Ham and Grays which would have returned £40... unfortunately Grays and Birmingham couldn't oblige with late winners.

By the way, my fantasy team got off to a fairly good start today so it'll be interesting to see how the rest of you losers did

Went to Hayes v Eastleigh. 1-0 to Hayes who were better than I expected. eastleigh were worse than I expected, their best player being ex rebel Neville Roach. Haddow came on as a sub for the last 10 minutes.

Salisbury didn't even make the bench for Hayes. Michael Bartley was in the Hayes starting line up, but was sent off for clouting the Eastleigh captain (who deserved it.

Both sides physically strong and quick, but neither very skillful. The £5 admission for under 14s made me realise how reasonable our charges are.

Glen Harris has played in both games representing G.B.universities out in Turkey, played 2 drawn 1 and lost 1,last group game is on Sunday 14th against unbeaten Czechoslovakia. From reports he played well in the 2-1 defeat to Iran.Regardless of the results all teams progress further in the competition, what a strange idea?
