Not surprising. Think he might have played for a few other non-league clubs as well, but they rarely mention them. Take it from me though, he did play for us under Steve Browne (and never looked THAT great a player)

Probably because he played at left back. Matt Murray played for us on loan from Wolves and wasn't deemed better than what we already had at the club. He went on to become the England U21 keeper before a spate of injuries.

Eric Young many moons ago went on to play for Crystal Palace, Matty Stowell left us for Bristol City the year we were kicked out of the Conference.

Asamoah played for us the back end of the Ryman relegation season and his ability nearly saved us from the drop, but in most things says he signed from Hampton (Rocastle was snapped up from Kingstonian in his profiles as well)

Can't think of any others, but I'm sure there were plenty from the 70's and 80's

Just thought of another - Vic Akers - now on the coaching staff at Arsenal and the womens team manager.

Brian McDermott - on the coaching staff at Reading

Dave Kemp - Now with Crystal Palace (i think)

Gary Brazil - Coaching with Notts County (i think)

Mickey Lewis - Now with Doncaster Rovers.

Two other particular favourites who enjoyed successfull careers in the Football League were Ralph Miller (Right bach-Charlton early 1962) and Alan Paris (Midfield-? Watford 1982). After injury, Alan subsequently returned to the club in both playing and coaching capacities, I think. The odd thing about the transfers of Alan and Eric Young were that they were effected during the cup run of 1982/3 and meant that we faced, and beat, Millwall with what was arguably a weaker side than that which began that campaign.

John Delaney played for Bournemouth very late in his career not Reading.

Hunt who played for Birmingham

Paul Walker captain of Slough Schools under 15's who lost to Liverpool in the final was on Brentford's books interestly captain for Liverpool was Paul Rideout who went on to play for Everton Roma and Swindon.

From the same Slough Schools side was a player nicknamed Biscuit who went on to play for Reading.

Did'nt the great Steve Thompson who joined Wycombe play for them in the football league has been at Yeovil for a number of years now.
