I don't actually think Canvey fans give a toss at all. As they appear not to even give a toss about their own team, I'm sure they don't about fellow Ryman supporters.

Whereas St Albans, riding high at the top of the league, their best season start for a long time, have an impressive home average attendance of a staggering 558, thus demonstrating that their fans, um... err... don't give a toss about their team?

this crowd thing is great all these plastic teams spending big bucks trying to make it big... only true big clubs with a large loyal fan base, who turn up when you are bottom of the league can truly lay claim to the ryman title!! (or runners up spot)

The thing with St Albans is that although our home crowd figures are far from impressive, I would say that, Aldershot aside, we probably have the largest travelling support in the division, regularly taking 100-150 away with us, even when we're not doing so well.

 

Therefore, I'd suggest we have a large "loyal" fanbase, but seem to struggle to attract anyone else from our area (mainly yuppies!) to the games.

other things that contribute to crap crowds...

being in london dosent help as with everyone moving more often getting attached to an area, say harrow,just dosent happen anymore..its all just london to a lot of people..being a specific identity helps , bedford alysebury albans etc... nearby 'big' teams doing well.. if watford or arsenal or spurs are ripping it up or luton have a great season teams in that neck of the woods at our level will suffer...history/percieved rivalry etc... G and N and canvey didnt give a toss about each other untill last season despite being relativly close geographically.... a cup game this season would pull a great crowd in

CANV it is also worth remembering that it must be essential to get every possible trip away from the area (St Albans that is)
