I think they were in The Top Flight back in the early 90's as I remember them beating Chelsea 3-1 just after we made it back to the top flight. So that would have been 89-90. Sure I remember them (or maybe Palace) being relegated. I'll have to get my stats books out.

I've not found all his stats yet but I have found an old programme from 95 and he features on the stats page quite a lot. He scored a few goals that. 2 away against Derby in their 2-2 draw on October the 29th 94, 1 a three days later away against Sunderland in their 1-1 draw and one against West Bromwich Albion in their 1-1 draw on the 13th of November. Obviously quite an eventful time for him then.

I think he must have left later that season or in the summer. Unfortuantly I don't have the Rothmans football year book for that one so I wouldn't know.

Ahhhhh - Mendonca and Hunt - both struck down in their prime (injury and illness respectively). Kim Grant did not play for Charlton in the Premiership, but he did score a wonder goal at Millwall once, that will go down in history at Charlton. His biggest moment was cruelly snatched away from him though, as he was hauled down by Schmeichel at Old Trafford in an FA Cup Quarter Final. He was clean through, just before half time, with the score at 0-0. Schmeichel was sent off, but Kanchelskis had the best 15 minutes of his career after half time, scoring two and setting up the other for Hughes, as United won 3-1.

In the friendlies I've seen Kim play for the Fleet, he has matured immensely and has turned into a good quality striker who can hold the ball - the potential was aleays there to be a very good striker, but it never quite happened for him. Fingers crossed he can do the business at Stonebridge Road though

And this is him celebrating it.
