FAO Horsham Rebel and other exiles

Sounds exciting but there's so many hurdles to overcome yet. We've had hopes of similar projects before only to have somebody snatch them away.

This has potentially given us a two-year stay of execution and we as supporters should continue to make contingency plans for events after that.

Hmm, ok, so it appears we have another stay of execution. Watch the level of fundraising tail off again as everyone thinks it's all rosy. We need to keep acting now and not letting things like this happen and waiting until the last minute to get it sorted. We need to make sure the Trust is well enough positioned to help out should the situation arise, and at present, I don't think it is. So lets not think the jobs done, I think there's a long, long way to go yet.

hi guys

its great news to hear that martyn deaner is stive alive and supporting the club, but like youve all said there is a long way to go...

its a shame to hear that we may have to move to colnbrook to find a new stadium but if it has to be done then we should definately go for it

lets hope this is the start of some serious steps forward

up the rebels...hopefully for a long time yet!

Anywhere in Slough would be a fantastic move... and Colnbrook is just about the only place with unused land. Loads of clubs these days have to move to the outskirts of their town/city to progress as there's little suitable land in the centre.

As Matt says, all the new stadiums being built are out of town. I've been to new grounds at Derby, Middlesbrough, Bolton, Reading, Sunderland, Leicester etc. and they're all on the outskirts of the town centre and often within a retail development.

Also, as Colnbrok is on the main route from Slough to Heathrow, accessibility should be quite simple.

Being placed there could lead to the club undertaking a similar idea that Bishop's Stortford have got set up at the moment. They raise extra cash by providing space for holiday makers cars and shuttles to nearby Stansted airport.
