As for remembering Paul Manning and the Fanzine 'Banging with Manning' : I hope I remember them as I started that Fanzine!!

Dylan Kerr - formerly of Reading who was apparently flown to Heathrow from Scotland at the Club's expense for games in which he was required.

I too recall seeing Alf Wiltshire play at the Dolphin in the late 1950's. His successor was Terry Prebble, who I think suffered a bad injury quite soon after joining Slough from Yiewsley. There is some information about Alf's early career in the paperback book "Maidenhead United 1919-1995". As well as a full statistical history of MUFC,it contains pen portraits of a number of illustrious opponents of the 1960's such as Clive Lawrence, Bert Randall, Denis Way, and the indefatigable Brian Pitts-who always seemed to be 10ft tall and 6ft wide when he played against us.

It would be great if the wealth of statistical and anecdotal material that exists on the "Rebels" could similarly be brought to publication, although it is very much appreciated that the club's and supporters' priorities lie elsewhere for the time being.
