I'm a little curious as to the playing positions of the following former late 80s-early-90s Slough players;

Mark Turkington

Mark Hill

Gary Donnellan

Trevor How

Vernon Pratt

Phil Stacey

Robbie Johnson

Francis Joseph

Steve Scott

Ben Hodson

Naseem Bashir

?????? Knight

Any other players you can think of from that era, also?

Mark Hill - defender, usually central as opposed to left back, although I'm sure he will have played there (often out injured as I recall however).

I can't ever remember Steve Scott ever playing up front. A very mediocore centre midfielder. There are two things I remember about Steve Scott.

Firstly him and Paul manning looking very profesional when taking a free kick..............they both took two steps back from the ball, one shouted 'now'.........and they both ran off in opposite directions!!!!......I think Briley took the free kick in the end.

Secondly, me being held back and being told by two other Slough Players not to smack him (scott) after he (not going to say to much , libel laws and all that.involves a friends 12 (YES 12!) year old little sister).

AHH, memories eh?

Steve Scott is up there (in my opinion) as one of the worst ever to wear Amber and Blue.

Phil Beal-Spurs and England

Les Barrett-Fulham and Wales

Peter Feeley-Chelsea

Peter Cruse-Arsenal( yes came back to us for awhile )

Alan Paris did same.

Roy Davis-Reading.

Les Briley-Millwall

etc. etc........

Alf Wiltshire was 50s, I think the keeper that started the 60s was Geoff Redford, succeeded by Alan Binfield, then Chris Reynolds. Ian Wolstenholme became the keeper in the 70s, then the memory gets hazy due to about 15 years of Saturday football for myself at Old Paludians.

Tommy Langley - played for us after he was at Chelsea.

Kenny Sansom was the size of a small house when he turned out for us.
