So what went wrong last night?

Two breakaway goals in the first 15 minutes in a half we dominated and were unlucky not to score. Second half Kean on for Oakes which improved things a bit but they were passing the ball around much better than us and deservedly got a third. Lucky not to concede a penalty (though I thought their guy made a meal of it) and one of ours thumped one of theirs when he wouldn't give the ball back and Ms Ref only gave a yellow! All in all very poor, I would bring in Roberts for Wilmot, Evans for Moran, Brown for Campbell and Sippets for Crawshaw on Saturday. We have been due a good hiding and now it's happened we should have a long hard look at ourselves and regroup and get things back on track on Saturday. We're not Real Madrid but some of the players think they can just stroll about and win every game so it's about time a few butts were kicked. Rant over.

According to Evo it is

I'd just like to agree with most things Rob said earlier. Hollenbach for Smith is a good idea but I'm not sure on Sippetts for Crawshaw. I would probably have to bring him in Martin. Roberts should be given a chance in goal but as Wilmott is such a good player it must be hard to leave him out.

Glad to see Castle back and Moran although he didn't have such a good game last night.

Neither am I sure HelenC. Martin and Crawshaw are our best pairing but they need service and they didn't get it last night. I feel both Oakes and Smith need to increase their workrate considerably. Kean improved things when he came on and took some of the load off Moran but let's face it everyone was below par last night.

Rob, I thought Evans was supposed to be getting married on Saturday.

...Hollnebach

are you listening Batman & Robin...

2 wins 2 defeats, says it all...

disagree about the first half assessment, except for the first 5 mins

a few words that spring to mind

Complacent, gutless, spineless, mediocre, lazy

thought Martin tried hard but how come we can't get it into our heads to play the ball on the floor, instead of hit and hope all the Bloody TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!

I await some mundane drivel in the programme, saturday, about this "performance"

I have it on very good authority that 6 of the 1st Team squad are playing tonight,

Duncan Roberts

Rob Gould

Derek Brown

Richard Evans

Beckett Hollenbach

and

Gary Sippetts.

And I should know

Evans can't play as hes getting married. You cannot drop Campbell for Brown, Corey has been fantastic this season, while Brown has looked dodgy when hes played. I aggree sippetts deserves a run out and you CANNOTT drop the yank, hes been class. You can't drop Wilmot as hes a great keeper and non of the goals have been his fault.

Last night we were undone by big beefy no nonsence bouncers while when we went 2 down we resorted to long balls into the two front, we have some great crosses into the box but no-one on the end kind of Clarky Sytle.

We did outplay them for the 1st half so no need to panic yet although we are gradually looking less and less like we were for the first few games which is worrying.

Hmmnn.

I agree with SSL to the extent that we dominated the first 5 minutes rather than Rob's suggestion of the entire half.

Team selection? I never comment on team selection but I assume that The Duo can't pick their first choice team every week or they would be knackered by Christmas, notwithstanding that they are finely tuned athletes. I would have thought that to win a championship, the players on the bench need to be match fit and on that basis alone, Hollenbach needs a start soon. The same could be said of Roberts. If Evans is the preferred right full back, and Ryan is seen as 1st choice cover, Gould needs to get a look in soon, too.

I don't know anything about football but I think that it's called 'rotavation'.

I agree that Crawshaw and Martin have been the best strike partnership, and when Sippetts has come on in the past couple of weeks, he has played wide on the right of midfield. And looked the part.

Talking of the programme, SSL, did you buy one last night? A very good read indeed. The best in the League by far and good value for £2.

IMO: We were all over them for the first 5 minutes. They scored in the 6th minute. We were better than them for the next 8 minutes. They scored in the 15th minute. We were then cráp. Rob. The referee was a man. Weren't you watching?

The team for Saturday against Wingate & Finchley should be as follows:

GHA / Richard Wilmot (Gk)

Rhino (DR)

Corey (DC)

Leon (DC)

Beckett (DL)

Challinor (MC)

Castle (MC)

Smith (ML)

Kean (MR)

Martin (SC)

Crawshaw (SC)

If Smudge plays rubbish, and to be fair we haven't seen the best of him yet this season, bring Naylor on at DL at put the Yank at ML.

Rob. IMO, we don't know how good Roberts is. Wilmot has been playing very well this season (shut up saints64infuriating). Evans isn't half as good as Ryan, even if Ryan plays in a straight jacket. Brown isn't as good as Corey. Corey is having another good, solid season so far. If Sippetts starts on Saturday and Wingate have a 6ft DC who goes in hard on Sippetts in the first 5 minutes, Sippetts will be out of the game for the rest.

Well for what it's worth I'd play...4-4-2 of course!

Subs: Brown, Sippetts, Roberts, Smith, Evans

or if 3-5-2 was needed...
