Going full time? your views.....

should canvey go full time? most sides in the Conference are now, would definetely improve the team as training and playing with your team mates day in day out only helps the squad get stronger, build together and have a better understanding of each other, also gives the management an opportunity for constant monitoring of a player's progress.

full time clubs always seem to benefit, look at Grays!!!

most players went full time and they stormed the conf south, lets hear your views.......

Grays storming the Conf south isnt much of an argument, we stormed the equivalent league when we were there, yes Canvey would probably improve if we went full time but we would also loose alot of players that come to us because they dont want to play full time. the extra cost of going full time also has to be accounted for

eventually Canvey will turn full time, but i think how well we perform this season will determine how quickly we change

I think for us to go full-time we would need to bring in attendances of at least 2000 on a regular basis, you can argue that if you go full-time the football should improve and the crowds will come but it`s a gamble. It will be interesting to see in a couple of years time how many of the smaller full-time clubs revert back to part-time.

Many valid points.

I don't think we are big enough to warrant a full time club. There have been many new initiatives to get people through the gate and these need to be applauded and continued.

As Ken mentioned we would lose some good part time players such as Sterling and Tait. At the moment we probably appeal quite highly to players in this regard. If we go full time we may not appeal to the better quality players who won't see us as a "big enough club"

I agree and feel that this season and probably next will determine if we go full time and would imgine that it will be a mix of some full time and some part - a best of both worlds solution.

Many clubs will struggle from over reaching and going full time to soon - as you say will be interesting how many return to part time.
