Just got back home after working til 6pm. A lot was done today. Supporters have worked wonders again. The front of the clubhouse, Hartsdown Rd side, has been repainted and the new fixture boards have been put up and look brilliant. The roofers have been in and have removed and replaced the cracked roofing panels. Still some more to do I which I would think will be completed tomorrow. The pitch suround is coming on slowly but all the fencing appears to have been put together and so just need lifting and concreting into place. The entrance into the ground, the area behind the stands and the corner near the home turnstiles have all been levelled today ready for the tarmac tomorrow. Myself and Paul have constructed the benches for both dugouts, hence the late finish. The white lining has been completed today in the Hartsdown Rd stand and on the concrete in front of the stands. Speakers for the tannoy and safety lights are currently being installed by the sparkies and is also proceeding well. Work has also been ongoing in the club with new flooring being laid behind the bar, and also a general tidy up and repainting. A lot of people have been working hard today with bluebloods wife and daughter cleaning the kitchens and white goods. I mustn't forget Margatefan (June) who I met for the first time today. She walked up and down the pitch I don't know how many times weeding it for ray!!!! I don't know everybody there but the work rate is amazing. Ray has also put the netting on the Coffin End goal today. I was speaking to Kevin Raine and he was gobsmacked about what has been done and really excited about playing the first match a week on Saturday. He stated that there is a really good club atmosphere at the ground. Once again there is far too many people to mention on here who have been working today and other days, but a big thanks goes out to everyone.

Really looking forward to the first game next Saturday. Everything looked good earlier when I went to HDP. Pitch nice and green. Like the new front (fixture boards). Good to see the guttering at the front was also sorted out...it looked a little out of shape the last time I looked.

Yesterday saw the near completion of the interior fencing surround. A new "first aid" hut has been erected. New gates gone up(clubhouse side) & various cleaning up has been done. Next week they may need more help, though the majority has been done(always something to do though). Maybe one of those who are up there all the time can tell us what is left to be done.

I have got to say that BLUEBLOOD stands out as being a very hard working guy having been at the ground for many days then going cabbing at nights. As like others who have been there from the onset he deserves some recognition for his hard work and dedication. Well done Blueblood.

What about me and the missis. Been at work this weekend 12 hr shifts but any time off that ive had recently has been up the club. Credit to Blueblood is due but many of us who have spent much time up their painting lines, the stand and the clubhouse should get credit where its due. Special credit to margateshot for coming all the way from croydon.

Yes,Paul,of course you and Leah have put in sterling work also and along the way certain people are being highlighted for their efforts. Am sure in due course it will be your turn. But seeing as though you pr-emtied it yourself this can be your moment of praise. There are MANY up there deserving credit but occasionally one springs to mind and I was just mentioning Bluebloods efforts because it sprang to mind.

Lets give all those that are there on a regular basis the applause that they deserve Tam,Big Ron,Melvin,Margateshot,Margateman,Margatefan,Dave with his bar and many others and many others familiy members. It was not intentional to omit you from the asaid praise as your name would have got brought up sooner rather than later. Lets say then that in this post this is your moment, both of you.

Its all been an all round effort by many people, many fans and helpers so I apologise if you felt you were being left out as that may have been the case today but it certainly wouldnt have been on a future day. Thanks to you both for your time and efforts.

Cheers Googly. I dont expect praise but I guess I felt I may have been forgotten about and that added with the fact that leah and I havn't stopped for over a week, im just very tired! All of the above deserve much credit but although Ive done it for the football club, I mostly do it for my grandad (ron) as he cant do much these days.

Thanks again.

P.A system up and working a treat. Listened for a while yesterday afternoon and it was really crisp and clear. Sounded great.

Heard also from leccky at the ground that the Health & safety people were in yesterday though didnt seek confirmation of this from KP. Lets hope that everything is in order and that those little items wanted to be resolved by the buildings inspector and the Ryman league inspectors, have been sorted and that we have all systems go to play that first game back home on schedule this saturday.

Thanks for info Cookie. I would also like to say what a friendly lot you supporters are. I had the week off work last week & got up to the ground for just 3 days to help. Blueblood & his family, Tam, Melvin, Dave, Cookie, Eyeballpaul & missis, Ron & a few others who I am not sure of their names, sorry, all made me welcome. Even met Margateshot, my old ten pin bowling partner who was down from Croydon. Its fans like this who are the life blood of a club & long may it continue!

So why shouldn't TonyM blow his trumpet, because the work put in by those supporters I named & others was fantastic, and all done for the same thing, their love of Margate FC & get us back to Hartsdown Park
