For the Medical students and devotees of 'Casualty' amongst you, he has ruptured and torn cruciate ligaments and torn mediate ligaments in the knee. Mixed News For The "Martin's"

Ben Martin received the results of a scan to his left knee late yesterday which confirmed his fears, revealing that the injury he received in the pre-season friendly at Tring Athletic was a ruptured cruciate ligament and surgery is required. 22 year-old central defender Martin is expected to be out of action for at least six months. Four years ago he suffered a similiar injury to his right knee whilst appearing for Harpenden Town and a St Albans City FC spokesman sent best wishes to Ben for a full and speedy recovery on behalf of everyone at the Club.

On a brighter note, Simon Martin is expected to sign for the Club this evening.
