The Manor played hosts to Southern League team Waltham Forest tonight at Tilbury. Forest fielded a young and lively team that were full of energy, running and passion.

 

The Manor were made to work hard for the win tonight and only a fabulous 25 yard blaster from The Manor's Chris Hammond separated the two sides.

 

This was the last of four Pre-season games, that saw the Braves win two, draw one and lose one.

I believe that the WESLERS are really going to make their mark on the non-league scene this coming season.

Yes, it would be nice to see one or more of us having a run the big one's - what is the furthest any ESL club has got in the FA Cup? I know Stansted won the Vase under an old boss of mine Dave Edwards.

Thanks for your support, its truly appreciated. The guys at the helm have worked tremendously hard throughout the summer, Kirk, Larry, Chester & Jenko have put together some fabulous talent at the Manor this season.

 

I have been mightily impressed with some of the other ESL Pre-season results, against stiff opposition, The Urchins win against Wealdstone Sunday is a fabulous achievement. Also nice to see my old mucker Asa get on the score-sheet last night, saw his goal on the website typical Asa goal.

 

Roll on Saturday and lets continue to support one another in the Cup competitions, there was great camaraderie last season as we all progressed through the mid to latter stages, lets keep that going this season.
