Has anyone read the article in Basingstoke times-it actually says that the manager was influenced in his decision by the views of the margate fans.

 

Rocky will be well pleased with Gate fans then. !!!!

 

Personally i would welcome him back anytime and rate him highly.

 

From zero to hero-remember 18months ago Che was out of favour and became a 'relative' hero last year.

I would like to see Baptiste in a Margate shirt for at least this season. Margate does need another surefire scorer and I would feel a lot better if we had him back.

 

Not sure what to make of the comments about fans from his old clubs. We werent that harsh about him were we?

Everyone seems to have a distorted view of rockys season last year. I personally felt he had a good season, didnt he get 15 or so goals, and thats what he was paid to do, and his partnership with Che was excellent. At the end of season party he proved to be a top bloke, and i really hope he stays, could be good in a coaching role to for strikers coming through the ranks

I personally think that Rocky has priced himself out of signing for higher division clubs. Although we struggled last year he did not look a lot better than any of the other players on the pitch. £500.00 a week is far too much and I think it is late in the day for him to keep demanding that kind of money. Give it another week when all the clubs have got their squads and he will be willing to play anywhere. I still think, however, that he would be an excellent signing for us and will score well in this league.

I have always said that Rocky believes he has been playing in leagues below the standard that he believes he should be in.( No bad thing)He has now,as mentioned showed that to be true by his higher demands. Yes,he is a good player but I still maintain that for him to deserve the amount of money he has been after he really does need to show some more work-rate.

In this league he will do very well however despite my negatives about him and if he were to come back I too would welcome it and I would hope to see him improve in ALL areas and become that classy player, that all round fine player, that he obviously believes he is...I feel there is more in the locker so lets have the benefit of his true worth back here at the "GATE".

I will be delighted if we see Rocky back at Margate. Shouldn't forget that he was the star striker at the end of season before last and even if his scoring was less consistent in 04/05, he continued to show a high work rate and played in every game.

If he was as good as some make out then someone else would have signed him. Out of all the players that have left we will miss him the least imo. Rocky was at times wastefull last season he all ways seem to want one more touch in stead of just hiting it 1st time a shame as when he did strike it 1st time he had a habbit of scoreing some crackers.

 

The bigest downside with rocky is the money he thinks he should be paid if it wasnt for that i belive most gate fans would have him back at the drop of hat.

 

We could probaly get a few good squad player for what he wants a week im sure but would they offer what rocky can at times.

Don't worry about that particular Anon, James. They are just a typical bandwagon jumper who doesn't like anyone to have fun at games and moans about any singing or generally anyone enjoying themselves.

Agree. James has had many of our our backs up with his original type postings but its time to let go. The guy has diluted his posts from the political in the extreme to that of half political half football. The fact that he hasnt seen any games yet is irrelevant and yes,he CAN know about a player and his skills even though he hasnt actually seen him play in person.

I was one of those with my back up previously as regards to James posts but he has improved them, now actually talks about football and now ACTS as a True fan does. He comes to all meetings,& is never afraid to face anyone. He was at the carnival and did the walk and we mustn't forget that his knowledge could be of value to us concerning political issues should we need an answer or two.

Its time to thank James for getting involved and slowly becoming a Margate fan like the rest of us. All this dosent mean we will not disagree with him again in the future on certain aspects though. Is that not the same with everyones postings. He comes and meets us despite ridicile at times and is never afraid to face those that ridicule him and all credit to him for that! Good on ya James.

John, I fully endorse what you have said.

Having seen the pre seasons friendlies and the abilities of the trialists I have seen no-one anywhere near those of Rocky.

If we are to stay in the Ryman Premier we have to have good players. If we aspire to getting back into the Nationwide Conference South we need better players. Rocky is a better player.
