Harlow or Hamsters?

Recommended Posts

On Thursday my wife and I will be making our way into the wilds of Northern Oxfordshire. To the border area around Northants, Warwickshire and Oxfordshire.

A small village called Cropredy to be precise to see Country Joe and the Fish, Richard Thompson and, of course, Fairport Convention.

As is common this event, which goes on till Saturday midnight, clashes with the start of the football season. On previous years I have made the trip back to see the game missing the Saturday Afternoon Session, leaving my wife in the field and returning around 5:30-6:00pm.

This Saturday however The Hamsters (A Hendrix tribute band) are playing 4:30 till 6:00pm and this leaves me with a dilemma. Do I go to Harlow and miss The Hamsters. Go to Harlow and leave at half time so that I will catch the finale which, I have no doubt will include "Along the watchtower" and "the star spangled banner". Or do I miss the game altogether.

Simple. Go to the game. The Hamsters never stop gigging so you will always get the chance to see them somewhere else. I saw them when they started their Electric Hamsterland tour some years ago.

They do a "regular" set as well as the Hendrix and ZZ Top sets and, in fact, their web site says they will be doing the regular one at Cropredy, so they probably won't do All Along The Watchtower and tthe Star Spangled Banner anyway.
