Voting WITH advertising is showing at 50% for both so it looks like the average will turn the attendance as it stands at the moment to dead on 1000 so KP may still get his wish yet if the voting is anything to go by.

Of course its not going to be easy to get the thousand with the team we are playing but as Dave points out this game has other factors going for it that COULD raise the attendance figures. We just have to keep re-inforcing the carnival coverage in another or other ways leading up to the game to try insure we get the maximum attendance we can for this first game back home.

We really should have had a football league side down to celebrate,as that would have helped no-end but at least this game will give us some kind of feel as to what we can expect at future games.

It will also take a bit of time and some good results before all those missing on our travels to DOVER and ASHFORD return to the fold. It SHOULDNT do but I feel it will.

Why does Margate not give out say 100-200 free tickets to local schools,

This encourgaes kids to find Margate

They go home tell their family friends etc.

It cost Margate nothing, kids will be given money buy their parents for snacks etc.

Rotate the schools that get the tickets.

Margate fc in the community.

You are building a fan base for the future

Good point! One I shall bring up with the club today. Maybe we need a meeting with the club in the very near future to give over our ideas as you never know they may take some on board. Mind you it isnt a sure thing that some of these ideas havent been thought of by them already.

Failing that may I suggest you address your ideas(good as they sound) to the club in writing c/o Hartsdown park,Hartsdown road,Margate, or even better still pop into the ground yourself and give over your ideas to those people directly.

Issuing free tickets works.

As well as the points I stated in the previous post, I can nearly guarantee the kids will return on their own accord.

They have a good day out with their friends, they will talk about it at school, and look to return another day as paying fans.

I have seen this work before.

I post here as i do not live in the UK , and unable to present ideas in person

Weymouth have always had decent support anyway. There's no harm in these kind of giveaways, but, as I said, it's what happens on the pitch that really dictates the support.

The point about Weymouth is that you have to start somewhere and then build upon that, but various forms of (non expensive promotions such as the posters which are relatively cheap).

Remember that 5 years ago, Yeovil were only getting about 1300 to their games

I had a similar problem when I visited the page he first time and the choice was given, I left that thread to look at another one and when I returned it just came up with the results as if Id already voted.

Just give it some time. I was eventually able to vote.

The poll is showing a trend of BELOW 1000 with or without advertising. Shall have to wait to see I suppose but there are still days to go before poll closes but after having acquired these "posters" maybe the trend will turn the other way.Time will tell.

Margate could be massive, the potential has always been there. All it needs!!!!! is a ground and a team to fulfill that potential.

Good to see Alan Bown come on board, i hope other high profile Thanet people will join too.

And talking of the ground, id like to see the club purchase some temp terraces to put on the old main stand side by the time of AFCW. They are relativelly inexpensive and would boost the capacity by 7 or 800. Which would be great.
