I too was worried about the season ahead only a week or two ago but since then we have made what looks like to be three excellent signings and like great escape said our depth is alot stronger. The squad is definatly stronger than last year and i feel we could be pushing for the top 12.

Really cant wait for the season to start now. Bring on Accrington. I wonder if the shots will be saying it once we take 3 points of em second game in. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

Agree, most other fans probably have us down for relegation - especially after witnessing games last season.

IMHO I think they will get a bit of a shock basing their assumptions on last years players and performances.

I honestly feel at the moment we have a good chance of finishing mid table.

We have a lot of competition for players at the back all of whom appear to be quality. This should make it harder for other teams to break us down and keep us earning points.

I already have a feeling that our new strike force will link up giving us more goals. The differnece between this year and last year was losing the odd point because of injuries and the styles of Junior and Boylan playing together.

My worry, which is completely unfounded as we haven't kicked off yet, is with midfield. We have a number of players who have very different styles of play and may take a tad longer to gel. Then again I'm normally wrong about most things.

I would dearly love for us to give Accrington a good thumping to wake everybody up. However, if we get a point I would be happy. Think we will struggle through a few early games whilst the guys find their feet and hopefully Jeff will stick with a more settled team.

Our season will be determined by what tactics are employed ie 4-4-2 or 3 again. Jeff keeping a settled side, injuries and the officials.

I think the shots might have a bit of a shock when they come down as i dont think there as strong as last season and with a few injuries and suspensions i can see us beating them.

we won't get owt from Accrington, our away form was shocking last season, can't see that changing for Sat. Hope we manage to beat either Shots or Gravesend next week (both would be nice !). Agree with the point above re midfield, it was often changed last season, looks like more of the same again. My concern with midfield is who is going to score some goals from there as we can't expect the strikers to do the business every match.

Accrington are a rather inconsistant side. Good one week, awful the next. They've lost two key players including winger Predergast who was one of their best players last season so will find it difficult.

I think we could get something their.
