GREG Deacon opened the scoring for London Colney in his first match of the summer as they went down 3-2 to a Hemel Hempstead XI on Tuesday.

 

The former St Albans City youngster had played for Colney after leaving Chesham United last season and returned to action in style, scoring with a fierce drive on two minutes. Hemel equalised before Colney striker Martin Farrow chipped in to give the Blueboys a 2-1 lead in the second half. Colney made numerous substitutions during the second period and two late goals from Hemel set them on the way to a 3-2 win.

 

l On Saturday David Parkinson continued his fine pre-season form for London Colney as they overturned Eton Manor 2-1 at Cotlandswick.Parkinson, nicknamed 'Bullet', showed why as he took his pre-season tally to four strikes. "
