Bad news about Lovell. Whilst he appeared to have attitude problems at times and was pretty useless for the first half of last season, he was a different player under Daish. I know I'd much rather see players of his attacking mentality stay.

A good all round defender imo.

 

I think you may get a little frustrated though as he is good but not briliant in air, and a bit slow.

Full time training should speed him up,and at the 'Gate he was really still recovering from a serious injury.

Excellent in conf. south.

May find conf. national a bit tougher though; and i would rate Graham Porter a bit better

There was nothing slow about him last night, but then again he wasn't playing on that mudheap known as Ashford. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Certainly going to be good enough for the Conference, and probably can move a step higher than that.

Agree - was thoroughly impressed - will be excellent contrast for McCarthy and/or Porter etc bit of pace at back??!!

I should think he would combine well with the other Smith who probably has a bit more pace.

It is nice to see that Liam can turn out a side to play that well and still have Proths, Smith, Porter, Glozier, Drury, Surey, Macca, and Manny to fit in.
