Rent Money

I've been told that there is an article on the back page of the Slough Express this week that the £25K was NOT paid by the deadline. (as we probably expected)

Not having access to the paper here in Horsham, what does the article say ?

Also, is there anything in the Observer ?

As you say, we probably expected that. The question is whether any alternative payment structure has been agreed between Martyn Deaner and Peter Simpson although as Peter's wife has recently died I expect he's got other things to worry about and I hope everyone leaves him alone to attend to matters far more important than football.

Having read the Observer now it appears that the money has not been paid by Martyn, but Peter is not pressurising excessively for that money yet having relaxed his deadline seemingly. New company is to be setup and run by Roy and Bernard but money is to be transferred by Martyn into this company also has not happened yet, but Roy isn't worried according to the story.

I am very upset with the papers this week (both of them) yes its a story and yes they want to put the issue in focus !

But remember Martyn Deaner said over almost 1 year ago, he will be unable to bank role the club to the extent he has and needs others to get interested and for other ways and means to raise capital for the club !

The papers are quick to announce the money has not been paid !!!!

And not hardly a mention of the pre season friendlies that took place this past week, with one at Uxbridge that could have made front page headline in the nationals ! becuase of what happened to one of our new players !!

a utter disgrace ! No one was there ? no one bothered to read the web site from the press ?

But yet they can be on hand to put the boot into our club again !

Why are they not out there getting support for us, there were many promises that they would see if their contact could help us !

To this day nothing .....

Will they along with 90% of this town be happy when we have no club to represent us ? are the papers doing anything to help us with the plight...all i can say the Trust and its members do have some money and it will be down to the members to ensure that Windsor get their money if we have to , but this will be needed to be approved by our members at a EGM.

Or someone can come up with some ways to raise some funds not only to pay Windsor but to pay our players as well ???

But the local press have a part to play in this ! we need help....we are trying our best as a trust to get people involved and contacting local companies but all only want to support the major teams of this world....

we as supporters really need to help our selves and get contacts and some serious fund raising as this week really has told us we are on our own !

and its down to the regular 300 to save our club ! if you don't ...then we might as well all pack up now...our new players and Eddie and the mangement team that has given us 5 years Extra time ...need our support even more than ever.

cheers Chris

Chris, unless I've mis-read whats going on, Deaner hasn't said he won't pay the £25k he just hasn't paid it as yet.

Roy is reported as saying that he is not concerned and hopefully this means he knows what the score is and the £25k will be paid eventually.

Eddie has said there is reduced players budget and with 2 weeks to the start of the season he must know what that budget is otherwise why would players like Hodgey, Harris, Mets, Parkin, Carbon, Mason still be here if they didn't know by now what their wages, if any, would be.

Chris,

To blame the newspapers for the club's plight seems like a case of shooting the messenger.

Peter Simpson made an announcement that August 1 would be Slough's deadline – how could we let that date go and not keep fans up to date with what is going on. Supporters always ask for news, for updates. What is going on with Slough is a question I'm constantly asked. Why criticsize this information when it comes?

As for reports on the pre-season friendlies, there is not a great deal we can print safely on the Uxbridge match besides what was published in the Observer following official contact with the FA. But this will not be the end of the matter I can assure you. In any case, I cannot print about the stamping incident because of legal reasons – even though our rival did and managed to get the name of a player wrong.

I could not go to Hemel because of a death in the family and my attempts at calling the manager to follow it up proved fruitless between then and the time we went to press.

I'm quite happy to keep Slough out of the headlines if that is what you are after, but 'sticking the boot in' is a case of 'barking up the wrong tree'.

Yes Gary you maybe right about the deadline and its conseqences, but also while the club is talking to Peter Simpson with the matter of the rent payment, surley is between them, it is not time to score points...The club with all its problems and walking a tightrope of an exsistance, do you think any of this helps ?

Especially this week , when Peter Simpson has more pressing family issues.

BTW ...Why could you not have run a story about the incident or even provide those who did not attend the match an outline of what did happen, I thought you were a journalist - You did not have to mention names....???

I have had many a conversations with you about trying to see how we can get support for Slough Town FC ...how about running an article to see with your papers help we can raise the rent and

wages for our towns football club.

Or will it be left to the few ....we need constructive help...

and yes I know we have to help ourselves too and get off our backside s and do something for our club.

This club belongs to our town , not to me nor Martyn Deaner...but our town.....and its plight and help from its town's people and local industry is needed now not tomorrow !

My understanding is that Maidenhead offered you a groundshare at the start of the summer at a much lower rent than you have to pay Windsor,I think it was a sort of pay as you play deal rather than all the money up front.Surely that would be better for your cashflow?

As I believe it, we are tied into a 3 year rent deal with Windsor, of which the current coming season is the third. Under contract law we would have to honor that one way or another, depending on the get out clauses.

Is that right ?

Have you seen the state of Windsor's pitch at the moment?

....with the exception of Brackley which although on a bit slope was like a bowling green!

Sandy does a fantastic job on Windsor's pitch, no more so than before our game against Warsaw when it looked fantastic. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/applaus.gif" alt="" />

It was quite good for the game against Walsall too.
