Van Morrison wrote 'G L O R I A' a long time ago. What was the name of the band what first released that classic as a single? [Looking up answers on the internet is for nerds, by the way.]

I went to see Van Morrison at Petworth Park in June. Great evening but none of the old stuff.

I bought his Astral Weeks album not so long ago, AFF, but I can't claim to be a fan.

 

His biggest 'hit' - Brown Eyed Girl - didn't even make the charts in this country. Can you believe that!?

 

Same with Summer Of 69 by Bryan Adams - never a hit in the UK!

I used to picture that I could sound like Bruce Springsteen when singing in the privacy of my own shower, CZ. Now I recognise that its probably more like Van Morrison, vintage 2005!
