As I said earlier, the truth hurts does it not??

And no I do not stand by the tea hut.

In answer to all of your earlier comments... the truth is I do care about what happens at Stonebridge Road, that is precisely why I am expressing my concerns about the coming season.

Constructive critism is okay if someone is listening. Quite clearly the club is not listening to any of the supporters concerns.

Just because the club are not changing it to bring it into line with your way of thinking dosen't mean they're not listening.

You say many people agree with your analysis of the clubs dealings, do any of them know how to use the internet? Why don't they log on?

As far as I can see you pretty much in the minority, has it dawned on you that your the one in the wrong?

If you don't like what Liam Daish and the club are doing, then we don't need you.

Unfortunately we do need him, and hundreds others to keep coming down to Stonebridge Road to keep up in this league.

More than any other recent season, our start this year is crucial. Whether we like it or not, there is doom and gloom amongst Fleet fans and a slow start will see our gates plummet.

Thats why I would personally have liked to have seen a more settled side by now, and our goalscoring options already in place and creating understandings. there is only 1 more friendly before the real thing.

Lots of good points, even by old Eeyore, but personally, I've seen this all before. Some good players gone, new blood in, no one know what's gonna happe, forebodings of doom, and then we come back with a decent performance for a season.

I may be wrong (and I often am), but I'm with FF here, top 10

WVN, why don't you f... off, you miserable moaning whinging b.st.rd.

Isn't that typical, just because someone expresses views that are different to those 'rose-tinted' views held by yourself, you have to resort to foul and abusive language.

I would suggest that if anybody should stay away from Stonebridge Road this season it should be you. Do the club really want supporters who resort to foul and abusive language as soon as they cannot get their own way, or if someone expresses views different to your own.

I shall be at Stonebridge Road next Saturday and will be shouting and cheering for the Fleet as I have been doing, on and off, for the last 40 years, as loud if not louder than most. The difference between me and you my friend is that if my predictions do come true and I sincerely hope that I am wrong, I will be still continue to support the Fleet and attend as many matches as I can, whether those matches are in the Conference, Conference South, or Ryman League. You will no doubt be long gone.

For your information, I have no inclination to want to attend matches at any of the grounds listed in your posting, that is of course unless the Fleet are playing there.

Whatever happened to free speech? I have expressed my views directly as a result of genuine concern for the club and the coming season. Concerns that are based upon what has gone before and are being repeated yet again. Only with potentially more dire consequences as a result of the club going professional.

It has been stated that all my recent contributions to this forum have been 'doom & gloom', perhaps you might like to tell me precisely what there is to be optimistic about.

If I am wrong and as I said earlier I sincerely hope that I am, I will be the first to put my hand-up and admit it. If you are wrong, then no doubt nothing will be heard from you again.

You're wrong. Redneck was there before the conference days.....

.....anyway, this is getting a bit o.t.t. everybody.
Anymore & the thread will be locked.

WVN - I think you are just expressing many of our deepest, darkest thoughts, which many of us would rather not contemplate. With the switch to full-time football brings added pressure, uncertainty about the stand behind the goal, a new un-proven manager, new players (many from lower leagues), a lack of firepower, less season ticket holders etc. its easy to be negative.

Realistically however, a ball has not been kicked in anger and would argue:

- Pre-season results don't matter. The team is still gelling and adapting to the transition to full-time football.
- The Manager has signed some higher rated, young, albeit it mainly lower League players e.g. Slatter, Smith, Glozier. Added experience in the form of Bowry.
- By recruiting younger players, the Club is hopefully not stretching itself finacially as would be the case with recruiting experienced Professionals. This seems a sensible approach.
- We have a good chairman, who can be trusted to look after the Club's affairs compared with some so called business men that run football clubs.
- The Club has a base in the form of Beauwaters where the full-time players can train as required.
- There is still time to recruit a decent target-man that can score goals.

For every negative there is clearly a positive. Until 10 or so games into the season, the simple fact is no-one knows what the Clubs fortunes will be this season.
