Burnham v Uxbridge Result

Burnham did take on Thugsbridge and won 4-2. Well done Matty!

Took this from the Burnham site:

Burnham did very well tonight and won the match 4-2. The Blues went 2-0 up through a double from Matty Miller and then against the run of play Mark Nichols pulled one back for Uxbridge just before the break. Yash Romeo restored the two goal advantage 10 minutes into the second half. Stuart Lake reduced the arrears again on the hour before Anthony Alleyne score the Burnham fourth on 75 minutes.

Was working too late to go to Hemel so went to watch Burnham. I may be wrong but a man in a suit with a briefcase turned up escorted by a Burnham club official and somebody said he was an assessor......so I don't know if they decided to take a look at Thugbridge. Talking to officials, they were well aware of last Saturday and the team had been warned.

Match kicked off at 7.15 as the switchgear for the lights is still being installed, so ended almost in darkness. Unfortunately the PA system was not working either so no teams were given.

Thugbridge were on their best behaviour, although there were a few altercations with the Ref, but he was not taking any nonsense. Only one lino turned up so we were treated to Ryan Williams running the line in the first half and attracting some Thugbridge abuse for an offside - I thought his decision was correct!

Ex Slough players appearing in Burnham Colours as well as Matty and Ryan were Danny Honey and wait for it-----Andrew Deaner, appearing as a sub with about 25 minutes to go, who missed a header and ran back to make a defensive tackle for which he got a warning from the ref - timing again! Matty Miller looked impressive and hopefully getting a regular game will see him back into his Yeading form. I wish him and the other former Slough players a good season.

Burnham looked the better side throughout and must be a good bet for a playoff place.

Sorry this is not up to the Chris / Radders standard, but was not intended as a match report!

Could be wrong but Jackson from Chesham, isn't that Jamie who played for us a few years back. Infamous for his nightclub antics and being a top geezer.
