Which Margate councillor was married last weekend and somehow was given a free firework spectacular to mark the occasion by the very same people who also do the fireworks for folk week?

You are joking. Was that on thursday or some other time because thursday is normally a fireworks night anyway. Just to add insult to injury I heard that together with council members he is coming to our first game at home. What a joke that would be after his latest outburst. I expect he will bring his "minders" as he is coming amongst us "louts". I think he's got a bloody cheek to appear and the club should even be telling him not to appear as a matter of principle. He hasn't apologised publicly or privately for that matter to us so in turn he should NOT be allowed to come to our ground until that apology has been given.THE CLUB SHOULD BE WITH US ON THIS ONE!

Whats that got to do with it.We have every right to refuse him admission.Are you telling me that just because they are our landlords they can enter whenever they wish.No they cant! If that were the case they should be made to pay the entrance fee just like everybody else.At that particular time of kick-off they would not be on duty as their roles of councillors so they should be treated just like a member of the public but having thought again they could never be JUST another member of the public could they? In a world of their own at times. No invitation for S.E. I say! Unless an apology is made!

I can understand your sentiments Cookie, but what an opportunity to show SE just what the club means to the fans. Attention should be 100% focussed on supporting the team not slagging off public figures. I'm sure Keith would want it that way too.

I think relations between Margate FCs fans and the Council are bad enough without banning Councillors from attending matches, which is

 

S.E. said things which could be interpreted to be wrong. However the fans got their own back by complaining to the press. I say leave it as it is. Theres no real justification for banning them.

Yeah but he doesn't like us! What better way to show him that we cannot be harmed by him than by subjecting him to a glorious first footy match, with a really good carnival atmosphere, and hopefully a good win for the team and much celebration all round!

Now then he would have to smile and smile like politicians do, but hate every moment of it but have to put up with it and pretend he is pleased that we are going to be sucessful and have our footy back home where it belongs.

In actual fact, we dont have to do a thing but be ourselves and be back home again.

Rise above it all, the outcome is in our favour, this will be our finest hour, and we can ignore all the rest.

If you believe the story to be true anonymous I suggest very strongly you not spread this and simply report it to the Standards Committee (the contact details can be gotten from the TDC website).

 

You are making some very serious accusations there and unless you have any real evidence rather than hearsay I'd rather you kept it off this forum.

I will reluctantly cease from trying to rid this town of a coucil leader who should not be in a position of authority.I Dont think he's finished with us yet,even if we dont get at him, but for now I understand and go with the thoughts of the majority, thereby my censorship of this man will abate....... for now!

Theres nothing wrong with you trying to rid Thanet of its Council leader, as we all have freedom of speech, but refusing him permission to watch Margate play isnt constructive. Thats all. Thanks for understanding.

You have your opinion James and I have mine. Its not about "gaining" anything. Sometimes its a matter of principle, but anyway as mentioned previously there is no more to be said at this time. Hope you get to be leader of the TORY council yourself one day and if you do please learn from others mistakes & failings.
