Coaches

Recommended Posts

Howdy,

I remember last season I asked about going to away matches and being told that you have to be a member of the Trust to go by coach. That's still true, isn't it? Just checking. I'd like to help the club, so I'll join the Trust regardless of the coach situation.

Anyway, I want to go to some away matches this season but I can't make it to too many as I don't really have the money. What are the prices like for the coach? I take it they are different for each game.

I did check the Fleet Trust site, just I couldn't find anything on coaches. I hope I haven't got this all wrong.

Cheers.

You are right, unless anything has changed, then you do need to be a trust member to travel on coaches.

Costs usually vary from £10 to £20, depending on the distance. Somewhere like Cambridge maybe a £10 where as somewhere like Scarborough or Morecambe maybe £20 or a bit more.

If there is not enough names put down to travel on the coach then a minibus usually becomes available. However, not that often but I remember Scarborough away last season had no transport, due to lack of interest and short notice of cancellation for the coach.

Hope all that helps!

The away travel is likely to change slightly.

Coach quotes are being sought as we speak for each away game with various coach companies.

The membership of the Trust to travel is only to do with insurance, if you are a member of the Trust you are insured on the coach and your time inside the ground. This is likely not to be a pre-requisite this year. Trust members will likely take precedence though.

£10 a year works out at under 3 pence a day, you could probably find that in the street if you looked hard enough.

No money is made from away travel, the coach has to pay for itself though. Smaller coaches are organised if demand dictates but a trip to Morecambe costs well over £1000 and the Trust cannot afford to make up the shortfall.
