Fans Behaviour

A couple of issues arose today.

I'm sure anybody that was there today will know what I am talking about.

We can sort these issues easily between ourselves but we need all supporters to pull together.

In the main we have a tremendous fan base which is a credit to the club. We need to build on this base, encourage new support, respect all matchday helpers (unpaid) and move forward as one unit.

Personally speaking i dont really think the fans behaviour was too bad...it was more a question of dirty play and (without being biased,i swear) was down to leiston players, plus i was disgusted with the behaviour of their manager, right [****!!****] if you ask me! Was yelling @ 1 of our players and john asked him 2 back off and the other guy started hurling abuse at him, john did retaliate but the lil darlin turned round and appologised to the fans (awww, bless!)

So what went on over on the eastside?

C'mon chaps enlighten us! What happened? Intrigued!

Surely as the championship is apparentley in the bag and a formality, cracks have surely not started to appear before the season has started.

Up the Boro!

PS nice to be back 4weeks in Florida has done wonders for the grey matter. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/affig.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/angel.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/affig.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/angel.gif" alt="" />

a little matter of a bunch of inbreds from suffolk who came for a fight rarther than a footie match...it happens and a few of our guys took humbrage...as indeed is normal...

as for the matter of 'winning anything'....well apart from a few 'wind up posts' I think we are on record as stating that a top 6 place will do just fine for our youngsters....

Hx will never come apart at the seems QQ....we are far to united for that... <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/cool.gif" alt="" />

but do keep hoping old boy.... <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

Quality Street just a bit of good natured banter.

No cracks mate we probably gained more from that game than any other in that we met a tough uncompromising outfit who, to be fair, did sometimes try and play a bit.

Leiston are in a higher league than us and of course our 4th game in 8 days, which is a good baptism so to speak.

If you want to know how we are playing come along mate, you're most welcome.

>>>we met a tough uncompromising outfit who, to be fair, did sometimes try and play a bit.

A very tactful way to put it - yes, they did have some skill - but when they found that the Urchins had a lot more, they resorted to 'if it moves, kick it' tactics.

The mass assault on Lee Sontag was a disgrace. The irony of it is that he was simply too good for Leiston, who had no idea whetsoever how to stop him, but he will miss three matches now unless there is an appeal. It would be interesting to see the video of this, as I thought the keeper hit out at Lee, and it was not at all certain that the referee got the correct Leiston player.

In case anyone missed it, the referee restarted play with a dropped ball - yet I thought that if a player hit someone, it was a foul - and in this case, a penalty.

However at least we now have some realistic idea of what other teams might resort to this season.

Easy chaps, you have put yourselves on a pedalstool to be knocked. No one put you there. You may have bought the Cream of the ESL but ask ETFC, they certainly did not have things their own way. I urge you to be cautious with predictions and not end up with the proverbial egg on face scenario.

As for behaviour of fans, like most dont knock the passion, but direct the aggression into positive media and not the advertised misbehaviour of your own. You have support. Now keep it. Fickle bunch!!!!!!! I remember the days of Mssrs Linnel etc when a hard core of 20 tried to create an atmosphere. ( Unsuccessfully).

Up the Boro! <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/cool.gif" alt="" />

the only prediction we have made is that we shall get plenty of stick off of jealous fckers... <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

and we were of course right....apart from that most of the bull seems to be coming from others...

we have gone out of our way to try to make friends in this league and I think we have done that....all you lot do is whinge about having no money and bleat on here about us...

get boxing day sorted QQ before its to late and stop posting self serving pompous sh*te on forums... <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/shocked.gif" alt="" />

Agreed. I returned to The Bridge 3 seasons ago because my young kids wanted to watch a football match and, at the ages of 5 & 6, I wasn't going to take them to a Premiership game. We have continued coming ever since because of the excellent family atmosphere about the place.

Whilst a certain amount of "language" is to be expected from passionate fans at any match, certain parties do go "over the top". Although my kids are aware of this and know they should not copy such behaviour, my fear is that other young families will be deterred from following AFCH in the future. A sensible "toning down" by certain parties would be appropriate.

BTW OB, the ground regulations are published in the matchday programme. Perhaps there is an opportunity to reinforce the message at the next home game?
