More pointless pre-season pontification

Recommended Posts

I see The Distorter quotes Liam as saying he is negotiating with Kim Grant re a contract, trying to reach a balance between what he wants & what the Club can offer. Also that Matt Nolan has to make up his mind if he wants to leave Peterborough, who will release him from the remaining 2 years of his contract with them if he wants to go.

Presumably, given what they're used to, these will both be full time deals - if they go ahead. Hope this doesn't mean Manny gets left out in the cold if they both sign, as I've always had a soft spot for the little man & am impressed by his bottle in coming back to prove he's worth taking on. Suppose he might settle for a part time deal, now he's qualified as a personal fitness trainer.

I share your concerns. It's patently obvious that Manny, when fit, is more than competent at this level, as demonstrated by his blistering first half in the home match against Barnet last season, amongst other occasions.

IMHO Manny can be the best striker in this league if as Slarti says we play the right sort of football for him. I'd rather have a 26 or 27y old Manny in our squad than a 33y old Kim Grant. Liam listen to the fans on this one and sign the little fella up and dont alienate anymore of us please. If we could have a little clarification on Manny from anyone or even Jay or Jukebox that would be much appreciated but we havent had any feedback all close season so we cant expect any now i suppose.

Manny is a quality player with the skill and pace to open up a defence, unfortunately we tend to lump high balls up to him rather than play it to his feet and he is not much better in the air than I am.
Keep Manny but persuade our defence/midfield to play the ball on the ground.

By all accounts, someone needs to talk to the manager, not just the players - at a recent training session during a reduced field size game, the long-suffering midfielders didn't touch the ball for 20 minutes...they'd have more to do playing gaelic football...

Hardly true - the club has confirmed when contracts have been signed by players so far.

Yes, we all know that the club could improve their levels of communication, but it's become a bit of a myth on here that they don't tell us anything.
