We came frombehind to draw 1-1. Their goal came on 15 minutes [Dino Maamria] and Dean 'Christmas' Cracknell equalised late on.

 

An entertaining pre-season friendly played in front of a decent attendance of around 320/350.

On a point of order, the P.A. was not entirely silent. A CD was playing as I entered the ground [6/10]. The teams were announced by the husband of the Bar Manager [8/10 - one point off as he was a tad fast] and the two scorers were announced by the chap who used to drive the red tractor [8/10]. A bit of a co-operative effort.

 

The raffle winners weren't announced but it wasn't me.

 

A moment of minor amusement. As the teams prepare to come out onto the Field of Dreams the Associate Director who is Chief Steward raises his left arm and, with military precision, drops it, his arm that is, just as the two teams emerge. That is a signal to the Associate Director what does the tannoy to put the stylus onto the record of 'The Boys Are Back In Town' [These things don't just 'happen' by accident you know]. Anyway. Last night, the Chief Steward did his bit in the same way that he has done for a year or two, to be met by deafening silence as the Media Control Centre was unmanned at that moment.
