Pi$$ takers!

I have just read somewhere that East thurrock only charged £5.00 entry fee for their friendly after charging us £8.00.

Now I am really hacked off!

I for one will not let that happen to me again and will refuse to enter the money grabbing gits turnstiles and will stand with anyone else that feels that way.

Honestly, I am serious, That was takin the pi$$ and we let them! Next time, the urchin faithful should refuse to enter untill they drop the price. There was around 70 of us there and I am sure they would have dropped the price if we all stuck together.

Is there someone we can complain too about this pi$$ take??

That really is awful.

They obviously adopt the 'lets sting the b@stards for what we can get' attitude.

It won't be long before they themselves get stung if they carry on like this.

If they had any class, they would offer a £3 refund (to make the difference between the two prices) to anyone with proof of entry.

Very sad that people have to act like this.

the fact is that they have shot themselves in the foot because it will be a long time before our guys go back down there...we could be in the same league as them next year and how many will travel there then....

my guess is about 6...

i went to maldon town the other day vs dag and red XI. maldon were full of trialists and d&r had a youth team + ashley vickers. they charged £6 which i found to be ridiculous. £8 is a shocker. they saw you coming im afraid.

On a serious point I can only presume that someone picked up all the verbal flak on the messageboard last week against the iniquitous £8 charge levied on you lot and decided that if the Bororites were going to stage an "until half-time clubhouse sit-in" they would have to reduce the entry price to a fiver.

I don't think that the £8 rate was particularly aimed at you Urchins but that it is what they probably normally charge for home league games and they just didn't think when applying a price for your game with them.

I wouldn't pay £8 to watch that lot on a regular basis anyhow after last Saturday's showing.

What I was saying was we need a £5 fee to help the club be self sufficient.

Eton Manor, for example, £5 would be ridiculous. They don't have wage bills etc that other bigger ESL sides have. I'm not saying they don't need money but it's less vital.

If everyones gate was £5, the smaller teams would be outraged, if it was £2/3, the bigger clubs would not survive.

On paper it sounds a good idea, in practise it just could not work.

thought the bar and resturant helped as with a 50/50, and other fund raising ideas, not to put the price on the gate.

By the way by the time you read this <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/birthday.gif" alt="" /> for 27th Monkey
