As I explained on the first page of this thread, there is no way it would make economic sense, given the difference in your salaries, for you to get a joint mortgage.

You will earn £16,000 a year. That is standard for the job you do. Certainly no more than £17,500.

 

And yes, I too could live in a privately-owned house if I latched myself onto someone who already owned a property and has a well-paid job in the City.

Thing is, not being on the deeds is nothing to be ashamed of. It makes a lot of sense to be wholly in HB's name, as it's probably increased the amount you've been able to borrow by about £100,000.
