thurrock played jimmy mcfarland...lee hodges..terry bowes...there 1st choice keeper plus 3 other 1st teamers......and we beat them 3 2 with a late goal from billy ( remember bn1 i told you about him ) drake....what a prospect this boy is.... only just 16....

Ok Billy, so you reckon we beat the reserves but you can only beat the team put in front of you!

 

Did Drake still manage to finish his game of bowls first?

I was told by one of the Thurrock directors that basically the midfield had gone to Hornchurch, and that the team we played only had a couple of reserves in.

Your right there Southport i spoke to one of there players and he said that there defence & keeper was first team and there midfield was squad players and front two are first team and the fella who scored thurrock first goal they paid money for.

 

So all in all not a bad night really.
