Its a friendly and a chance for the club and fans and manager to see and take note of various players both old and new and any kind of cup for the game is far less important than getting those facts we require to get a good team together.No-one will be going flat out for a cup but surely will be going all out to get noticed and get a contract. Thats the most important issue on Tuesday night. Winning also dosent bear importance as you will realise with friendly games.

Both, and its not a defeatist statement but a factual one. Besides even with the lack of knowledge of playing power the name MARGATE FC alone should see off BOTH teams. I was talking about Tuesday nights game. But anyway it applies to ALL friendlies as well you know! I am not saying that getting one over on a local rival wouldnt be pleasant but thats not the reason most are going to watch. To see who we have at our disposal is far more important than winning against opposition, even local rivals.

I'm sure Rams v Margate games in the past have been for some kind of trophy, and didn't the gate receipts go to charity or something?

The game on the 6th is called the Kent Charity Shield which is the KL winner v KL cup winner, or in this case the runner-up.

Whoever loses will say it's not important, and actually they're right for a change, PSF results mean nothing.

Yes Clive it was the Isle of Thanet Cup. The 6th is Kent Observer Charity sheild against HB .13th is Kent Messenger Cup Vs Margate. Hope this helps
