Looks like you've just defeated your own argument. Impressive work.

The point is that there is little point in dangling the carrot of 'childish little strop' and then claiming that you are under orders not to elaborate. It's just like Number 8 stating that Manny had left and then suggesting he couldn't go any deeper into the matter. The fact is that, to people less well-informed, such statements can be interpreted as part of a battle of oneupmanship to show off to everyone that you're in the know and they, perhaps, are not. Whether that was your intention or not, that is how it may appear.

I cant believe his performance on Tuesday truly shows his ability. You dont get to be an Under 21 International if you dont have reasonable ability.

Yes, I know there are other examples of players who havent developed afterwards (Sigere being a good example), and that it was only Northern Ireland, but he must be better than he showed on Tuesday.

The thing is Harry, having stated that, I'm sure that your so-called source will be reluctant to tell you anything again.

The official line is he was getting fat and told told to lay off the pies.

To be honest, I have a problem with him too.
Performances were uninspiring during the end of season run-in.
I defended him by saying it wasn't his squad and that certain players we had simply weren't good enough.
Well, the August to October period will be enough time to judge.
This coming season will be down to Daish, whether we do good or bad.

So what have we learnt here? White Van Nistelroy, stop being such a doom and gloom merchant. Harry, stop saying things that you can't back up, if you're not supposed to say anything about something, don't mention it in the first place.

Everyone else, keep up the good work

At least you are giving him a chance, WVN is like a broken record.
We'll get Andy Ford back shall we? Re-sign Tostao, Plummer, Meah, Barr, Abbott, Huggins etc?

Yes but Jimmy, Liam Daish has been given a higher budget than what Andy Ford ever had. Andy aspired to take Gravesend into full time football was never given any assurances, was one of the favourites for the Gills job when Hessenthaler left, goes on a bad run for the first time in 7yrs, gets ceremonially dumped by the board when we were highly unlikely to get relegated anyway and then we get served up the Bishops Stortford debacle by the new manager who is then out of the blue given a budget to start full time football and as yet has done very little to suggest that we're going to do any better in the conference than the last two years. This is why half the fans are split on the appointment and have been since he started. What wasnt deemed good enough for Welling was deemed good enough for us.

It's a little harsh to blame that defeat on Liam, if you ask me. There can't be many cup ties played over two matches where one side has three players sent off and loses another few to injury (most of whom were defenders, including McCarthy and Proths in the first match), and the other side suffers no such problems.

Yes, I do feel a sense of regret that Andy wasn't given the chance to work with a full-time budget after the wonders he worked for us over the years, and that his departure seemed in hindsight, judging by comments from Brian and the man himself in the aftermath, to be the result of a preventable misunderstanding. But that doesn't mean I'm not going to give Liam a fair chance.

At this stage I stand by my comments.

I hope that I am proved wrong......but I very much doubt it.

I sincerely hope that I don't have to come back onto thus forum, at a later date and say I told you so!

Or indeed others saying the same thing to you!

What if Andy Ford had signed him?
Would that have been alright?

You have the biggest problem with Daish out of anyone I know.

What? Even a bigger "problem" than Chiled Out Entertainer who can't say a civil word in the same posting as the words "Liam Daish"?
