Bloody marvellous news!! Would like to reiterate the thanks to all those connected to the club - especially CK (patience of a saint). Would also like to thank those supporters who have made themselves heard and helped the club get through the last few months. Without your dedication to the cause I doubt we would be looking forward to the coming season and I would probably be watching Kettering!!!!

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!!!!!

Thanks for clearing that up football fan, apologies if I took your remark the wrong way. Good to have civil conversation on this forum with the odd well meaning banter thrown in, but nothing nasty.

Anyway great news from last night, my congratulations to all concerned at the club & looking forward to new signings soon

You would not want them if you knew them.On second thoughts, Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeees take them, the only shower we need is of the rain variety to irrigate the new pitch.

I agree. The last news that I had about him was that he was well unfit. Suppose that can be sorted but I do agree that he may not be the answer. We really are waiting with baited breath for some forwards of real calibre to be signed by CK, to put those goals away this season. lets hope now that the club has had this latest good news the better players will be attracted once more.

Its midfield that worries me.

If i were to have any criticism of Ck ,it is that we neglect midfield.

Both defence and attack start in midfield.

The best striker in the world is not much use if you don't make the chances.

Make enough chances and someone will score.

I think we need minimally 2 new quality midfielders and hope D Chapman is one of them, but we need someone else aswell.

If you don't concede, you don't lose.

You can score 5 and still lose.

Build from midfield and defence first and there is still alot to do there

Agree about midfield. Given the constratints, I'm not sure it's CK's "fault". But both last season and again against Tonbridge we did have trouble getting the ball to the front men. That situation leads to the defence moving up too far (gaps behind for pacey strikers to explpoit) and / or the strikers dropping too deep to be effective. But, given the good news, Ck can now go recruit the right balance was we enjoyed in our championship and 1st Conference seasons.

Alot of our goals last season came from set pieces.

If we had conceded fewer we would have won more(fairly obvious)

Point is that we will still score from set pieces, make more chances and we will score more from run of play, but its the making and prevention of chances that is critical.

Make 20 chances per game and my granny would probably score one of them
