'Incidents' spark Tube evacuation

Emergency services have been called to three Tube stations after "incidents", Scotland Yard said.

Police confirmed they had been called to Warren Street, Oval and Shepherd's Bush stations.

There have been reports of smoke coming from two of the stations and all three have been evacuated.

The whole of the Northern Line has been suspended, along with the Victoria Line and the Hammersmith and City. There are no reports of any casualties.

Police also confirmed that emergency service personnel have responded to reports of an incident on a route 26 bus in Hackney Road.

A spokesman for London Underground said the nature of the incidents was unknown.

One hospital, near Warren St station, has started its emergency plan.

Sosiane Mohellavi, 35, was travelling from Oxford Circus to Walthamstow when she was evacuated from a train at Warren Street.

"I was in the carriage and we smelt smoke - it was like something was burning.

"Everyone was panicked and people were screaming. We had to pull the alarm. I am still shaking."

But a BBC reporter outside Warren St station said there was no sign of smoke outside.

Wonder why Alma Road has been shut.

This on bbc news...

"Army bomb disposal teams are preparing to carry out a controlled blast at a suspected bomb making factory in Leeds.

Police began evacuating about 70 houses in the area around Alexandra Grove in Hyde Park on Thursday lunchtime. "

Similar thing in Alma Road, perhaps??

From Thameslink

Because of a security alert, St Albans station has been closed whilst safety checks are carried out.Train services are being disrupted and this may lead to short notice alterations and cancellations.NO trains are allowed to pass through the station. We are at a stand either side of the station

Took me an hour to get a train from kings cross today! How annoying!

Went up to sainsburys near warren street tube station to get my lunch and was confronted with the sight of loads of police cars, helicopters, streets sealed off and coppers telling people to leave the area. Luckily I still managed to get my lunch TV crews got there pretty quick too!

I went back to work and all the coppers in my office had changed into their uniforms and we had the police radio on. Apprently, passengers and police were chasing the suspects through the underground tunnels. There was a lot of excited talk on the police radio!

I think I'm cursed, thats 3 bomb sites near me in two weeks!
