Not too much in in, 10th game was a away win against Enfeild.

Two crap performances H v Hitchin & A v Enfeild picked up 3 points

In 92/93 H v Windsor & Eton & A v Staines Town picked up 3 points.

So last night was a bit crap and the selection was odd, but all the moaning and slagging off behind the goal was taking the piss, this team has treated us to 8 games in 10 of 1st class football and if that trend carries on we'll only have about 6/7 more crap games this season.

You may all slag off EFM but at least we get behind the team! (and I'm aware that only 2 of us were there last night before you all start there were palenty of reasons why the rest weren't).

Lets hope the genrally aggreed starting 11 is on the pitch, from what I gather the duo rested a fair few last night and we got away with it so lets not do it again!

Hi U2.

Yes, there was an awful lot of disgruntlement behind the goal which is surprising as we are top of the League and, you're right, we have seen some terrific football this season.

Perhaps the fans have short memories. Perhaps we have been 'spoiled' this season, and, knowing that the team is capable of very good football, it is expected every game. There is another arguement, of course, that the fans pay [or, more accurately, contribute to the pay] of the players and management and have every right to comment upon their efforts.

I think that last night was a bit different, however, and I didn't get it.

EFM. You suggest that a fair few players were rested last night. I find that difficult to swallow. The team drew against a very good Kingstonian side last week in a very good game, but the midfield struggled for half an hour or more. We were disappointing against Hitchin and again, the midfield played poorly. I don't think that Gary & Steve decided that the answer was rest. I think that they tried a different formation from the start and maybe, just maybe, they would not have experimented in that way had we been playing against, say, Aldershot.

Brown hadn't started a game this season. He is on a contract. He needed a start, and Enfield was a good opportunity. The same could be said about Ryan. Campbell and Townley have been superb this season. If we play the same 11 every week, they wouldn't last until Christmas. It has been 2 games a week for the past month.

I would perhaps 'rested' the centre backs and played Moran and Brown in a 4-4-2 just to see. But then I might have lost 2-0 and had a glorious but all too brief spell in command.

If it was an experiment, it didn't work and The Duo will have learned something, of that I have no doubt. Yes, it was 3 points and that bit worked. However your suggestion Tony, that we went for 3 points and got them is an over simple view, I suggest.

It's an interesting thought that whilst it must be difficult for a Manager at the bottom of the League, it's not easy at the top. We have to have 17 or 18 players in a squad to mount a serious challenge and they all have to be kept happy. That's not easy.

Take the 3 points. Roll on The Wooood.

Well I blame EFM! The atmosphere was non-existent at the Hitchin game, no wonder the players couldn't get going. Whose idea was it to get married on a Saturday in the football season? I ask you! It wasn't much better at Borehamwood either, all I could hear was the constant moaning behind me which started after about 5 minutes into the game. Come on guys, sort it aht and get some singing going tomorrow and we'll see just what this team is capable of.

The only thing I want to say about the game wensday apart from us not getting the point we should have but, thats our fault, is that I was so funny that us VERY few E's fan's left never hurd anything from your fan's UNTILL the Albans scored in the 82nd minute, and then that was only a few chants of "we are top of the league" Come on lad's ALL you ST fans should be singing all the time not the "only sing when your winning " lark! otherwise nice bunch of lads you lot were, best we have had this season! Aldershot fans the worst!!!! <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/beerchug.gif" alt="" />

Mr [****!!****], there has been singing throughout most of our games this season, I suspect partly because we are winning, but also because we have a growing band of younger supporters who get behind the team regardless.

Unfortunately, we've had a couple of bad results and then on Wednesday the majority of the "singers" were abscent.

Anyway, we look forward to stealing another three points from you later in the season.
