I have been to every game this season apart from the burton albion game, and my problem is this. All my mates are going to the chester away game on the 13th of october, But my wife is due to give birth to our second child on that same day!!!!

I could either go to chester and risk divorce, or stay at home and listen to radio kent (who r so biased towards gillingham its unbelievable!!).

How can you tell a woman that you love gravesend and northfleet more than you love them!!!!

Well Gazza701 I am afraid I have no sympathy whatsoever for your plight. It seems to me to be symptomatic of all that is wrong with our society today, people are no longer prepared to accept their responsibilities.

Why oh why oh why did you miss the Burton game?

Thanx for all your helpful suggestions, but alas i think i will have to stay at home unless the bundle of joy arrives earlier than expected.

I never ever thought that i would put a woman before football.

By the way it's going to be a girl so akpo and tostoa are out of the window. The only girl's name i can think of to do with football is 'JEFF KING', but even that is too girly!!!

The morale of the story?

Only give the missus a good seeing to without the neccessary precautions in August, September or October.....

.....that way the little bundle of joy should be born outside of the football season.

Just for the record, my mate Bill the butcher can do you a cheap vasectomy - in fact, his prices are a snip!

Congratualations in advance - hope there's only one on the way!

Gazza you could have a double dilemma, if your daughters born several days earlier you will miss the short trip to Barnet and no doubt by the time the Sunday comes round you will be playing doting dad and won't want to desert your family otherwise you will have the mum in law to answer to

Tough call - football or family.

All the best at this difficult time

Super Daz, as it appears to be a subject of some interest to you?

When I left school, my first job was at London Zoo. I had to circumsize the baby elephants...........

The pay wasn't very good, but the tips were enormous!

Sorry, I feel I must defend our radio station. So we're "unbelievable" that we broadcast Gillingham commentaries are we? Despite the fact that we bring you goals straight away, have an additional report twice during each half, half-time and full-time, and nearly always an interview with Andy after the game. We now do exactly the same as every other BBC local radio station does. (I know of plenty who ignore non-league altogether because of clubs a lot smaller than Gillingham). We've been at every Gravesend game bar one this season. It doesn't seem so long ago that there were calls for us to do Gravesend games in the Ryman league instead of Dover and Margate games in the conference, so by that nature should we now be doing Dover games instead of conference games? We let you know of goals straight away, before ceefax I'd have thought. Maybe I became "unbelieveably biased" to Gravesend during the promotion campaign. However it's interesting to know that should Gravesend ever get to the football league there are Fleet fans who don't think we should be broadcasting commentaries of the games. I'm always up for feedback and would be interested to know what people think we should be doing between reports of games. People complain if we have commentary of the local first division club, and complain if we play music. Can't think of too many alternatives myself but am always open to ideas.

How about a weekly series starring facial haired non league footie stars from the the 70's to date. With particular focus on some local bearded or moustached stars, such as Kenny Burrett, Phil Stonebridge, Damian Richardson & Captain Peacock.

Its been a hot bone of contention on the terraces all over Kent, that for years beardies don't get their fair share of the limelight.

Its what the radio kent fans are crying out for.

C'mon radio Kent readdress the balance ..

I think your note was in the wrong thread, Matt - I cant see any of the references you refer to, within this one.

Anyway, I think to be fair, that most Fleet fans would accept that commentating on Gillingham isnt unreasonable, with the proviso that you get , at the very least, half time and full time match reports on our game. This certainly didnt happen for the Forest Green game, when I assume Chas was there, and available to give you match updates by mobile ? Even if he wasn't then surely you could have made arrangements for one of the other Fleet fans with a mobile phone to give you a brief resume at half and full time.

The only other issue is one that I raised last year - surely there could be some split on your airwaves to cover East Kent sides in that area, and West Kent sides in this area, whether that be throughout the afternoon, or simply at the times that match updates are given - that would allow East Kent fans to get Margate reports (plus I would think, simple score updates on Fleet), and similarly, Fleet frans to get regular match reports (alongside Margate score updates).
