The Southport Match!

Recommended Posts

Its hard to blame the club in this situation, the change has been pretty much enforced upon them.

Who do we blame then? Well theres a rather large office in Soho sqaure that will be getting a letter from myself regarding the enforced change of fixture. Yet again the actions of the giants continue to affect the minows. What about poor old Southport having to travel down here so early for that game?

I remember last season we weren't happy, and so therefore didn't, change our fixture with Burton for the same problem.

The quicker the FA aka F****** Arrogance realise theres a life out side the Premier League the better.

What do they blame for this fixture change? To give the fans less drinking time. So England fans will drink before the game, probably drink during the game, then drink after the game and then spend a jolly Saturday evening smashing up Cardiff!

If not move the game to lunch time on the Saturday the surely you could move it to the Sunday. And if they're worried about the laddish behavour of the England fans then they shouldn't allow any to cross the boarder.

Change of Kick Off time for the Southport match on the 3rd of September, it is now 12:45 due to the England game.

It says 12:30 on our official site, actually.

Personally, I wouldn't mind if we still played at 3pm on that day, since it's the Fleet over England every time for me. However, with a dip in attendance inevitable, this was the obvious decision.

Additionally, England play Austria at home on October the 8th, which may interfere with the kick-off time for our match at home to York.

I feel particularly sorry for the travelling Southport fans, to be honest.

No you said the kick-off was 12:45, which meant that anybody turning up then would have missed 15 minutes of the match.

Leave the news items to the professionals Harry. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

Possibly, but probably not as much as it would have dropped for a 3:00 kick off. Remember Burton last season?

The club would have been better off moving the match to a Friday night tbh.....

Not for Southport they wouldn't. The F****** Arrogents would have been better off making the game another time other than 3:00pm on a Saturday.

As the guy on confguide said this is the worst possible fixture they could have done this for.

Southport are a part-time side, they probably wouldn't have wanted to play Friday night, any more than we wanted to last season at Burton.

.....or a Sunday?

Nver mind, it's done now. I can't get to the match by reverting to the roster originally created, as that was a 6am to 6pm shift to assist in leave cover!

Damn people and their holidays.....
.....ooooh 3 weeks off soon. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />
