I suspect he would not have been offered re-engagement. I think Shaun did an excellent job for the Rebels and was unlucky to come up against Parkin who had a superb run in to the season. You cannot be expected to keep two young keepers of that quality at this level and I think we all expected Shaun to be released particularly given he was on good money.

Lets be fair here i thought Allaway was superb until he got injured, i thought his communication was always very good and you have to remember hes playing with mediocre players who switch off and maybe dont listen as much as what he was used to before he came here. When he first signed he was very quick at looking at distributing the ball early but once hed played a few games he realised tha he didnt have the players in front of him that he was used to and had to kick the majority of the time. Good luck to him, if he gets himself fit i cant see him being in the league for too long

nope, Allaway's kicking was [****!!****] from day one and to be honest I dont think I've heard our goalie from the other end until Parkin got the shirt

The one thing I noticed when Parky got in the team, particularly for a young lad, is that his quick distribution is fantastic. I like Shaun a lot as a keeper but Parky's distribution was far better.

Shaun's kicking is going to stop him getting higher at this level, though I can't see why he'd want to join Staines considering what sort of verbal battering Smurph1 have him last year

Taking our rivalry aside, they do have a good off field setup there with the gym and bar, and the pitch is very good as we saw first hand for the Bryco Cup last season, so there are reasons as to why players would find joining them appealing, it's just a shame it's Staines!
