I see no reason why not.

 

Keane is the only one who seems a bit unsettled, but I think we'd be mad to offload him. He's class.

 

It's possible that someone will come in with a big bid for Defoe which we may not be able to turn down.

 

We've got a pretty good Moroccan (?) striker in reserve too, by all accounts.

 

Why the need for Anelka, especially with his reputation? I'm pretty sure it's just paper talk, mind.

Anelka is a greedy money grabbing prick. Ok to be fair he was very good at Arsenal but since then what has he really done, apart from move to a new club every six months.

 

I hope it is just paper talk for yours and Colin's sake. (and mine as I don't want to watch that [****!!****] in a Spurs shirt.)

I agree. Total time waster who will never commit himself to the Spurs cause. If we have to sign another striker then Ashton at Norwich is worth a shout.

Yeah he got a few goals in a struggling side last season so could be a good one to look at. Depends on if he gets rid of any of the current four I guess.

I think a hard central midfielder is a more pressing issue.

 

Heard the name 'Paul Scholes' mentioned, but to be honest, I wouldn't want him either. No offence, Gertch.

 

Long past his prime, though. It would be like three or four years ago when we were just signing oldies like Poyet and Redknapp!

I can't see Scholes playing anywhere other than United to be honest. I'd expect him to retire rather than go to another club.

 

When do you find out if you have got a Portsmouth ticket ?

Can't really afford to do both Pompey and Blackburn, and I'm veering more towards Blackburn now.

 

Either way, Pompey applications don't close for another two weeks yet, so still have time to decide.

Plenty of time then. I was well chuffed to get a ticket for the Wales v England game in September. Didn't think I was in with a shout really as we only got 6,800 allocation.

Nah he didn't get one. I've got one more cap than him and that was what clinched it for me.

 

Luckily I've got a mate from Uni that goes home and away with England so I'll meet up with him and I've got some mates to stay with down in Cardiff to so should be a good laugh, and of course we will stuff them.
