Stadium Development

Many of us football supporters who have watched and will watch football for years will rarely have the opportunity to see their club have a new ground built. It is quite unique to see a major development in a football fan's lifetime. In addition the club are giving us excellent and fully informative updates on the progress.

It is interesting and exciting.

I have just returned from a visit to the city of Swansea where I was able to visit the new stadium which will be shared by the football and rugby clubs. It is terrific. In contrast I also had a look round the old stadium, Vetch Field which is still standing but awaiting demolition. The stands are old and rusty and the place is decaying. The contrast is quite startling between the old and the new. I think it is reasonable to draw a parallel with the old Hartsdown and what will be the new Hartsdown(even better when the full development goes ahead).

The new Hartsdown will give us a massive psychological lift. Lets carry on going forwards and looking ahead to the future.

Well said the way is foward and looks to be a great time for all of us,i really get the feeling we are going to bounce back quick,if the full plans are ok then its an extra boost, could even do a Yeovil and barnstorm our way through the leagues, love to see it,good luck to all and heartfelt thanks to those who have strived to make this possible.

The Cabinet has given the go ahead for it to go in front of council. I doubt it will be refused now. If there were any problems serious enough to warrant refusal, Cabinet wouldnt have passed the plans.

I would say the worst MFC can expect from these meetings is a Site Visit, which is possible. This is a major development for Thanet so it wouldnt be unreasonable for the Planning members to want to visit the site to see for themselves how the plans would unfold.

My expectation is recommendation to approve but with conditions, similar to those in place for this temporary stadium.

I can assure you that they wont put blocks on it.
