The Colchester Friendly

I passed the ground twice yesterday and was surprised to note that this fixture still isn't advertised yet. It is almost as if the Club do not want people to turn up for it. Direct advertising that costs the Club nothing yet not exploited. Why is this?

Hopefully that isn't true. Without fans supporting the Club there will be no Club! Regarding the Colchester game, this was arranged about two months ago. Regular fans will know about it but casuals/new visiters to the ground wouldn't have a clue. It is these potential new supporters that the club are failing to attract. How difficult is it to advertise this game at the entrance to the ground?

Getting info from the club these days is like getting blood from a stone. If it were not for dave holden, done of us would know anything about comings and goings at the club. The Fleet desparately need to employ a press/publicity officer to restore the link between club and fans.

no i haven't got a page in the pre-season programmes but i will be back in the Exeter one.
dont know how much it will be maybe 50p like last year

Mike,

People will be making a note of your page in the programme. Chances are you will get criticised for it, if someone says it's [****!!****] then leave it, criticism is good.

If a lot of people say it's [****!!****] then it genrally tends to mean it's [****!!****] in which case I'd seriously consider reviewing it.

However never be down hearted, I don't see them with pages in the programme. Obviously if someone that does have a page in the programme (Chairman, Wicksy ect ect) decides to criticise it then you really don't have a leg to stand on and changing it would be on the menu.

What will you be writing in it? Will you be writing match reports to pre-season games you didn't attend? Why don't you write all the match reports out for next season in advance then when it comes to posting it on here it's already done.

What a genius idea, also can you tell me now how we do against Grays?

You could do the same thing with photos, go down to the ground one day, take a series of photographs and then draw the people in afterwards with a pen. Genius idea!
