According to the 'Soccerbase' website here is the career appearance data of the Fleet's possible new goalkeeper:-

 

Wolves 01/08/99 to 21/05/00 Trainee No appearance data available.

Wolves 01/01/01 to 31/05/02 Youth No appearance data availbale.

Havant & W'looville 01/08/02 to 20/06/03 - 1 appearance in the FA Cup

Walsall 20/06/03 to 18/06/04 - No appearance data available

 

According to this website there was no transfer fee when he moved from Havant & Waterlooville to Walsall.

 

Whilst there is no appearance data available for the majority of his career, the fact that there is nothing registered hardly gives confidence.

 

Also what has he been doing since June 2004?

Soccerbase isn't all that accurate sometimes. He must've played for Havant & Waterlooville, just they don't do stats for players below Conference level unless it's the FA Cup.

 

Daish said he played for Falkirk and Boston (I think) aswell.

 

Either way, if this was around 2000, Jimmy Bullard's record would look pretty similar as his Gravesend and Dartford appearances wouldn't come up and he never played for West Ham either. Still, he turned out pretty good....

Why does anyone care what he did and who he played for in previous seasons?

 

He is either good enough this season or he isn't.

 

An impressive list of former clubs does not guarantee a better player than promoting someone from the pase boys.
