Yeah, Led Zep 2 or 4 for me. But I am partial to The Song Remains the Same - that 10 minute drum solo on Moby Dick is a bit much though!!

Anyone heard of the Mr Big band? How about the top 5 most influencial bands/artists? Mr Hendrix would be number 1 quite easily.

would be the top 2 bands for infulencing artists, I'd say The Stone Roses may well be in there as well for all the artists they've influenced in the past decade.

I'm sure Jimmy would be quite high but number 1, not a chance!

I think Jimi Hendrix has probably inspired a hell of a lot of guitarists, so I would include in a list of inspirational musicians.

Hendrix pretty much invented a whole new way of playing. Im not knocking the Beatles but I dont think they were as influencial.

Maybe Art Brut would cite them as an influence, but I can't imagine the Killers, Coldplay, Kaiser Chiefs or any of the other big bands around today would.

It's only the bands that Thornsy like that ever cite the Pistols as influences.

 

Fair enough, I can see why some bands are influenced by the Pistols' attitude, even though bands these days are so gay and un-rock'n'roll they don't know they're born.

 

But I can't believe a band ever goes, "ooh, that's a good Sex Pistols song - I really wish we could sound like that." <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

i havent heard their album but the songs that they have taken out have been brill. there new one pioneer isnt too good though.
