Yet further evidence that the people running Dover were as thick as two short planks. If you offer someone a two year contract and then you break it because you realise their useless you are likely to have to pay compensation.

 

Having said that I imagine that Dover's lawyers will be arguing that either Dover entered into the agreement following Browne's misrepresentation of himself as a capable football manager or that he committed gross misconduct in his sheer inability to win any crucial football matches - and therefore they should be excused from any payment due.
