...how long a silence we should have after disasters and atrocities?

 

Today we are having a two-minute silence at noon, but after the tsunami and 9-11 there was a three-minute silence.

 

I will, of course, be observing the two-minute silence today, but I get pissed off when over-excitable management at work tell me I've "got to stand outside" with everyone to pay my respects with my co-workers.

Yeah, but I do a couple of mornings a week at my mate's company just to keep me amused. They don't pay me, of course - like I need the money! - but it's good to get out the house every now and again.

What pisses me off is everyone saying how great this We are not afraid website is. Fk me, take a picture of an underground station sign and use some editing programme on your pc to write we are not afraid on it.

If you see the huge amount of additional passengers we are getting on our trains now you'll see how some people are well frightned still.

 

It's always been a 1 minute silence, 9/11 has devalued it and so did Princess Di. We only have a 1 min silence on rememberence Sunday and that is worth a hell of a lot more, to put it into perspecive we should be silent for half a day compared to what we have silences for these days.

Having a nationwide 1 min silence for Ken Bigley was the biggest piss take!

I know its totally inappropriate, but I always get the urge to laugh during silences, even if its for something really serious. I had to practically hold my mouth shut yesterday! I'm gonna go to hell!
