London to Southend Bike Ride.....Well Done!!

A massive congratulations to the 23 Canvey Island F.C. supporters who completed the 58 mile ride from Victoria Park,London to Priory Park,Southend in nearly 30 degrees of heat yesterday in aid of the British Heart Foundation.

A big thankyou to Jeff,Glen & all the players for their most generous sponsorship of this great charity, and of course the dozens of other sponsors who helped to make all the effort by the riders very worthwhile.

First across the line for our team was the trio of Tim Mcginley,Dave Wallis,& Ray wilson in a very impressive 3hours 40minutes and organiser Tim should be thanked for his efforts in this third consecutive yearly ride, the previous two being London to Brighton.

This event has now become a regular yearly event in the C.I.F.C.supporters club calender and hopefully it will attract more riders and more sponsors next year.

Because of it's popularity Tim is planning to enter a team into other rides in the future and everyone who rides a bike and can enroll sponsors are welcome...... <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/applaus.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/applaus.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/applaus.gif" alt="" />

I'll second those congratulations to all who took part. As those who frequent the club on a Thursday night will testify, these lads put in a lot of hard work training for the event clocking up hundreds of miles.
