And bang goes another fund-rasing for the club opportunity.....

Not really. If the copyright to the track is owned by the club and people make copied of it for their phones, then they have done it with out permission of the copyright owners. Therefore the club could threaten prosecution of anyone they hear with the ring tone (or agree an out of court settlement with the offender of a couple of grand) and watch the money roll in!

Yeh but they'd be put off coming to the club if this ever happened... and besides no doubt the club wouldn't go that far anyway.

In the long term what do you think they'd go for out of keeping fans or loosing a little bit of money by people giving ringtones to each other?

I know what i'd say.

Ah! but a 2000 grand fine, equals 166 attendences of home games, and no wear and tear on the ground!

Yeh but that's besides the point, plus the knock on effect would be other fans thinking the club were out of order and then we'd we loosing their attendance to.

Condisering the cd currently retails at 50p in the club shop,
I think that they'd have little chance of £2,000!

Well most CDs cost 10-15 quid, but it does not stop the music industry suing uploaders of tracks for thousands of pounds!

That's because usually, they tend to be sharing thousands of music tracks too.
